Coconut Oil & Sun Burn

If you find that you stayed out in the sun too long, just rub in some coconut oil. It will take out the sting almost immediately and keep the peeling to a minimum. How long should you do this? Reapply as needed, anytime there is discomfort. Soon you will realize that you are burnt anymore, just tanned. Next time you head out for a day in the sun put the coconut oil on first and avoid the burn altogether.

Cost Effectiveness of Coconut Products

Many of you may be wondering at the reasonability of adding coconut products to your diet because of price. And I say that personally it is an investment in my health and even though times are hard and gas prices are outrageous, I will not stop using coconut products. I would cut back on something else that does not involve my diet because I rely on it to keep me optimally healthy. Especially in hard times, I need to be healthy, I would much rather spend my money on the coconut oil that I need than on doctor bills and prescriptions. And having said that, if you stopped buying coconut milk and coconut flour but continued to get coconut oil, you would be saving money and still keeping up with your coconut oil regiment. I buy a gallon of coconut oil which costs about $56 but lasts anywhere from 4 to 6 months. So it is worth it to me!

Coconut & Gluten Sensitive People

If you are sensitive to gluten, consider using coconut flour. The consistency is pretty close to wheat flour bread but not as soft but it is pretty easy to get used to especially since coconut flour has a very pleasant taste. Get yourself a coconut flour cookbook so you can learn to use coconut flour and soon you will be making loaves of bread, cakes, pancakes and muffins. Then you'll wonder what took you so long to start using coconut flour. Another added bonus, other than it being gluten-free, is the cost effectiveness of coconut flour as opposed to other alternatives like almond flour.

Add Coconut Flour to Get More Fiber

Coconut Flour is almost entirely undigestible fiber and make for a nice broom for the intestines. For more fiber you can sprinkle coconut flour on just about anything. Put it in your soups, smoothies, pasta sauces, gravies etc. it doesn't change the flavor of the food and gives you your added fiber. Enjoy!
